Spring is in full swing on the farm!

I think it's about time for a farm update! Lots has been going on around here!

Our pigs came! I have never had pigs. And Tr and Jesse figured they haven't had any on the farm since 2008! With the extra fresh milk, we thought, why not raise a little farm fresh pork with it 😁 The piggies have been enjoying all their "shlop" (aka food scraps). I like watching them root, eat and sleep in their pig pile 🐷🐖🐽

In other news, Jesse was able to use a little of his vacation time off work to get 2 1/2- 3 acres of pumpkins planted, and praise the Lord most of them are popping up! We are so thankful to Chad Smith (my father) and also Brandon Harger (our friend/farm mechanic) for allowing us to borrow their rototillers to make this happen. The weather (and stars) lined up just right this spring, and we are so thankful! 🙌🙌🙌

In the past, we have set up a few local self-serve stands to sell our pumpkins, but this year we are discussing other options. Stay tuned for more details! 🎃🎉🎉🎉

Troy (aka "Pappy") officially retired this week, and we are SOOO happy to have him here. It's definitely been an "all hands on deck" kind of spring! Pappy helps out alot with the kids in the mornings and evenings so Mommy and Daddy can do chores together! (Even if it's an hour or two of quiet each day, I will take it!) We don't get much time for date nights anymore with our schedule, so we enjoy that time each day working together.

Along with the pumpkins being done, Jesse and TR also finished up baling and wrapping our first crop hay this past week! 🚜S

I've spent most of my time feeding babies (humans and animals) and working in the garden. It's hard, dirty work most of the time, but the kids and I love it <3 (I think Daddy and Pappy are happy too 😁). We only have a few more weeks till more calves are born and hopefully the milk truck will be coming down our driveway once again! 🚛🏡🐮
